How does the solar blockchain work?

 

Sello Sol traces the solar energy used in the processes involved to the generation of products and services, data that can be then validated online with blockchain, in order to achieve through the online platform decentralized, visible and verifiable transactions.

The generation data of every photovoltaic installation are obtained on the spot and converted in encrypted information blocks, which is mined and added to the blockchain to be validated by a global web of devices, turning it into an incorruptible and traceable in time information.

On Sello Sol blockchain, every client sends status updates to the server, while requesting new blocks to mine. This architecture (Restful API) aims to be as efficient as possible to allocate resources in order to prevent overloading the server.

The miner is a relatively low complexity process, it fetches the transaction, mines the data and returns the mined block to the server, which concurrently serves the chain to whom request it.

Sello Sol generates block chains using the energy measurement data, which can create a link between these two through the use of a hash: a mathematical calculation solution that involves the last block hash information plus the current processed block, creating with this operation a new hash. The information available both in blocks and hashes is replicated over every single machine connected to Sello Sol´s platform.

Sello Sol uses the blockchain protocol called GTIME, which has been developed specifically for the measurement and traceability of energy sources.
GTIME incorporates energy measurements every 15 minutes in blockchain data blocks, geolocation variables, time and an identification trace of each measurement generated in the associated facilities, for the decentralized validation of energy traceability.
